Notholt/SODAM Charity Trophy

Middlesex 7's.
Another great day out at HQ, plenty of free flowing rugby was on offer, the beer flowed freely as well, the tickets we had were excellent, as this photo shows we were on the recruitment trail, as well as Quins, Wasps, Irish, Kenya & eventual winners ULR Samurai were all in close proximity with Samurai's coach Joe Lydon well made up when I asked for his autograph. England Ladies were also present and sat in the VIP area next to us. It was also quite amusing to see Simon Shaw looking for his seat which was on the other side of the players tunnel. Check out our facebook page for more photos.

We hope you will be a regular visitor to our site.

SODAM is a social rugby union club that plays in the Middlesex Merit League, division six.  The name SODAM is an acronym that came from the amalgamation of the Science Museum and Overseas Development Administration rugby union sides and is now the home side the for the London Postal Services.

Our home base is at the London Post Office Sports and Social Association clubhouse in Sudbury Hill (Harrow) behind the Rising Sun PH.

We are always looking for new players of all standards so if your interested in playing for SODAM please contact our Club Captain Ian via email
here.  There is no annual subscription but playing members make a monthly direct debit (£20) or alternatively pay for the whole season (£135) before 1st September 2010 for the 2010-2011 season or choose to pay an increased Match day fee, which is still very reasonable at £7 and just £5 for students.

We have started pre season training, sessions are on Wednesday nights from 7pm, we plan to do training throughout the 2010-2011 season, but light and pitch conditions will determine how often this is possible during the long winter nights we will be able to train. This will be something new for SODAM players who in the past have always just turned up on a Saturday and seen how things go but we really think with so many players new to the game now joining us that training can only help when you do turn up for a match.

Touch / 7s
The final session was well supported, although not enough for a tournament, office workers from MW Kellogg were in attendance and enjoyed a more vigorous work out than normal, we were also joined by Hayes RFC. I'm led to believe that should touch sessions be run again next year it will be earlier in the summer.
