Welcome to the SODAM Rugby Club Website. We hope you will be a regular visitor to this newly created site. SODAM is a social rugby union club that plays in the Middlesex Merit League, division six. The name SODAM is an acronym that came from the amalgamation of the Science Museum and Overseas Development Administration rugby union sides and is now the home team for the London Postal Services. Being a social side drawn from all over London and further afield we do no train as a team but our close association with Northolt RFC and West London RFC means training is available for those keen enough to join in on a Tuesday at Northolt RFC (Cayton Park) or Wednesday at West London RFC (Birbeck College).
Sponsorship News We are pleased to announce that we have obtained a new shirt sponsor for the up and coming season with an air conditioning firm called AIRESERV. They deal with small and large instellations of air conditioning units, so if your company or your home needs air conditionig please contact AIRESERV at www.aireserv.co.uk
On the playing front so far this summer, some of the team and some new players have been playing in a TOUCH RUGBY tournament in Old Deer Park Richmond on a Thursday evening, watch the SODAM Facebook group for more details. Saturday 16th May saw SODAM travel to Greenwich RFC for a 7's tournament, the good news for SODAM it was a social 7's which meant everyone was willing to pitch in for whoever and whenever needed, SODAM would like to extend a big thank you to their debutants who helped us through to the bowl final against London Japanese, who I hasten to add had just played in the final of the plate having bought enough players to have played the tournament on their own, the reason they played two finals is that the 6th team that entered ran out of players. On the Social front we are planing are rugbyfest at the begining of August this will involve either some Light Training/Touch Rugby, there will also be a Spit Roast and of course the inevitable raffle I have secured a pair of tickets for the Middlesex 7's as a prize
This years Middlesex 7's is on Saturday 15th August, it is the same format as last year, the twelve Guinness Premiership team plus 4 invited teams, last year it was Ospreys, British Army and two other which escape me (possibly pickled at the end of it) I do remember it was a great day out, only blighted by Harlequeens winning the tournament, but they did have their 1st team out including Danny Care & Dave Strettle. Tickets will be available via this page as soon as they are available and I figure out how to do it Team T-Shirts Are Now available, cost £13 each you can also have your name embroidered on right breast for an additional £2.
